Let’s Work Together

My superpower is the ability to listen deeply and be responsive to emerging needs while holding a space of belonging for participants. I do this by offering online and in-person retreats, short and extended courses, intimate group mentoring, keynote talks and workshops. We’re wired to be relational;  to learn and to grow together. To find our collective joy through our collective pain. That’s the work I do!

  • Mentorship is one of my great loves. As a receiver of this tradition of guidance, I have appreciated having someone who is tracking my practice, calls me in when I’m lying to myself, and celebrates my breakthroughs. As one who has mentored close to 100 folks, it has been such a joy to see folks come alive when they find a way to explore their meditation practice, in a way that makes sense for their lives. In this program, you will learn essential teachings of the Buddha, while understanding how these ancient teachings can come alive in our everyday lives. And that these practices are not meant to be left on the cushion, but to come along with you as you engage with our lives.

Though there is great benefit in individual mentoring, we are wired to be relational; to learn and to grow together, and to find our collective joy through our collective pain. These small mentoring groups are held for 3 months, and are centered in cultivating connections within an emergent support system.

  • My superpower is the ability to listen deeply and to pay attention to what isn’t being said with our words, while holding a space of belonging for participants. In creating speaking events and workshops, I work closely with the organization to understand the underlying needs of their community. My offerings are infused with enthusiasm and joy for our collective process, while remaining responsive and able to pivot to tend to the emerging needs of the room. This allows for everyone to have an experience where they feel seen, heard and witnessed in a space of collective care.

Over my two decades of speaking engagements, I’ve shared my work with Mind & Life Institute's International Symposium, the Fetzer Institute, 3M, United Nations and LinkedIn. I’m also passionate about working with emerging leaders through the Peace Corps’ Jaffe Fellows and Teaching Residents at Teacher’s College at Columbia University, as well as the Dhalai Lama Fellows through the University of Virginia.

    Benefits

    • Support your organization to feel more connected to the vision, mission and each other

    • Have a moment of pause to reflect and remember what inspires you about your work

    • Normalize the impact of burnout, fatigue and mental health while offering support

    • Incorporate practices of secular mindfulness and somatic techniques in order for everyone to stay in the process.

  • Silent meditation retreats and courses are a great way to deepen your meditation practice and to figure out why we’re actually doing this! Sitting on a cushion and closing your eyes are the outward facing expression of meditation, and though this can be quite beneficial, there is so much more that can be known through collective practice, learning and conversation. I offer retreats at centers across the country including Spirit Rock, Big Bear, Vallecitos, Copper Beech and Insight Meditation Society - both online and in person. I also regularly teach at New York Insight where I serve as the Guiding Teacher, and offer course through the Ten Percent Happier app and Spirit Rock Meditation Center.

    Benefits

    • Creates space and silence for reflection

    • Ability to listen more deeply to what is needed

    • Guidance for how to work with what is arising in your practice

    • Support of a community to witness and inspire you.

“Our Sangha friends are there to assist us by reflecting back to us the ways in which we respond to the events of life. This reflection doesn’t mean that these friends are to sit in judgment of our actions or inform us of any wrongdoings. The reflection is silent. It is in the way we see ourselves in each other. When a friend falters or experiences discomfort, we, in turn, are there to witness the faltering and the discomfort, sensing the familiarity of their situation in our own life. When a Sangha member is happy, we see the joy in our own lives. Many have said to me that they do not need Sangha. My response has been, ‘Then where will you go when you begin to experience liberation? Who will know the journey you have taken and your vow to be awake?’”
